The ninth day of the ninth lunar month is not only the traditional “Double Ninth Festival” in my country, but also the warm “Old People’s Day”. In this traditional festival of respecting, honoring and loving the elderly, Mutai charity staff actively responded to the call of the “Love Station” and participated in this charity project.
In the “ring tossing” game area, there was constant laughter. Some of the elderly were agile, while others were childish, trying to accurately throw the rings in their hands towards the prizes. Every success was accompanied by a childlike laughter, and the pure joy infected everyone present.
In the health check area, professional medical staff also assisted and provided the elderly with services such as dental check-ups, influenza A vaccinations, and blood pressure measurements. The medical staff patiently answered the elderly’s questions and conveyed the concept of healthy living.
We also set up service points for cutting toenails, fingernails and hair. The volunteers were gentle and meticulous, allowing the elderly to enjoy the long-lost comfort and relaxation.
At the end of the event, each elder received a beautiful gift, which not only carried the blessings of the festival, but also reflected our deep respect for our elders.
